ALWAYS RINSE PLANTS IN SOME ROOM TEMPERATURE WATER BEFORE PUTTING INTO THE AQUARIUM ESPECIALLY IF SHRIMPS OR OTHER CRUSTACEA ARE PRESENT AS ANY COPPER RESIDUES COULD BE HARMFUL TO THEM. FISH SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTED BUT RINSING & SOAKING THE PLANTS IF SHRIMPS ARE PRESENT IS ALWAYS GOOD PRACTICE ANYWAY.
SHRIMPS ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO ALL METAL IONS AND THE SAFEST WAY IS TO HOLD THE PLANTS IN A QUARANTINE TANK FOR SEVERAL DAYS TO ALLOW RELEASE OF METAL IONS FROM THE PLANT TISSUES
